What better way to end two years of solid campaigning than by pulling pints in Portslade with Ross Kemp! I took him there to meet Zoe, the inspirational new owner of the Railway Inn by Portslade Station, and hear the story of how she created a new community pub. And then I joined Ross behind the bar to pull some pints for eager customers.

People were totally over the moon to be served by ‘Grant’ from Eastenders! Ross was really lovely and loved chatting to people at the pub and in Boundary Road.

It was a brilliant and fun way to mark the end of my two year campaign. Tomorrow I will be joined by hundreds of volunteers and together we’ll be out and about encouraging people to vote and participate in such an important day in our democratic calendar.

I just want to say a huge ‘thanks’ to you for following the progress of my campaign and playing such an active role in the issues and debates. It has been a total honour and pleasure to share, listen, and learn from everyone who has participated and contacted me. Tomorrow it is you who will decide if I get the chance to carry on doing so into the future. Please vote for whoever you believe will be best for our community, and please celebrate the fact that our democracy – however imperfect – is alive and well and is something to be cherished.

All the best from a very happy Peter
