Cancer is something that has devastated most families at some point – you’ll know from this account that mine has been no different.
At the moment Sussex struggles with the speed of starting cancer treatment due to the high volume of patients.
That’s why I’m over-the-moon that the Labour Government has recognised this and has officially confirmed a £250 million investment to build a new regional Centre of Excellence for cancer care in Brighton.
The Centre will serve a population of approximately 2 million people and is expected to treat more than 60,000 patients annually. Construction will begin this summer!
This is the difference having a Government focussed on improving our health makes. I truly hope that if cancer impacts your family in the future this Centre will be a lifeline
