On the 2nd of May around 2,636 councillors from 107 councils in England, 11 directly elected mayors in England, the London Assembly, and 37 police and crime commissioners in England and Wales faced the public. The results show that British people want a Labour government.
Labour out preformed its competition, gaining 232 councillors and flipping 10 councils to full Labour control. Of the 317 councils across England Labour now fully controls 38% of council governments and 44% of of councillors. This confirms polling from the last year showing a strong Labour majority in the House of Commons and an direct route to government.
This round of local elections has set the Conservative Party behind the LibDems by 7 councillors. According to Sunak Britain supports him – in actuality they would rather their ex-coalition partner.
