Last week the team and I went out for a fantastic Christmas dinner in Hove. It was so lovely for me to have some downtime with the hardest working team I’ve ever come across. In the last month alone 248 people, almost ten a day, turned to us for help. There there are 1,856 people we are actively providing support to right now, and that’s the Hove side of things…believe me the team in parliament is equally busy on your behalf too!

On behalf of the whole team I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the chance to do this work. It’s not just me, even though I’m the public face and get too much credit, it’s an incredible team of tireless and caring people. I want to take this moment to thank them, it is a privilege to know and work alongside each and every one – and that includes the hundreds of volunteers who flooded our community during the election, after the election, and even delivered all those Christmas cards in recent weeks!

I’m on my way to Bognor Regis now, where I grew up, to spend some quality time with my family. Tonight I’ll be popping to the pub I worked in as a teenager and I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.

If you’re a public servant or frontline community worker, thank you so much for keeping us safe and being there for the vulnerable over the festive holiday. Our whole community is so grateful for the work you do and sacrifice you will be making in the coming days.

I wish you all a gorgeous, restful, and fun-filled Christmas. Your grateful and festive MP, Peter
