Walking around the parade yesterday I couldn’t get over the scale of it and how amazingly happy everyone was. It was incredible.

I kept thinking ‘this doesn’t happen here!’, this is what you see happen in Manchester or Barcelona, not Brighton. But thanks to the Brighton & Hove Albion it does happen here. They made it happen and our whole city and people from far and wide joined in. In an age when so many in public life seek to divide us, they showed how to bring us together. They also showed how hard work, focus, and determination can deliver against the odds and that’s something I take a lot of inspiration from!

Even though I don’t watch much football I’m a massive fan of what the Albion does for our community, so I wouldn’t have missed yesterday’s celebrations for the world. Did you go to? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
