In Brighton and Hove we are voting for the Police and Crime Commissioner and I have already cast my vote with pride for Michael Jones, the Labour candidate.

In neighbouring West Sussex and many other parts of Britain there are local authority elections today too, and of course the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly.

I love campaigning and I love elections, so I’m spending the afternoon in outer-London where I’ll be doing everything I can to make Sadiq Khan the next Mayor of London.

Wherever you are, if you have the opportunity to vote today please grab it with both hands. Voting is a right but also a privilege and duty. Vote always makes me think of the hundreds of millions of people alive today denied the freedom to do so and what they would give to be able to participate in choosing the people and policies that impact their lives. All the best, Peter
