I hope you all had a lovely weekend and made the most of the sunshine. 

I spent Saturday afternoon in Vale Park in Portslade where I volunteered for community cleanup duty! A fantastic group of residents come together every now and then to help spruce up the park now that council resources for the area has been lessened. They put me to use cleaning the weeds out from the rose bushes in one corner of the park – a tougher job than it looks!

I returned again today to check out the fun day that had been organised by the 14th Hove Scout group. It’s leader, Tim, had done an amazing job of bringing the community together, laying on activities for youngsters, and even putting Cllr Alan Robbins to use serving food!
