We’ve recently had news about the planned closure of the Western Road Post Office. I’m very worried about this and so I’ve been talking on your behalf to the Post Office.

As your MP I’m especially concerned that the more vulnerable, those without access to transport and the elderly will become poorly served. I’m conscious that people with children and those who commute will also have difficulty in accessing Post Office services if the closure goes ahead.

What the Post Office Say

The Post Office plan to increase services at the near-by Church Road Post Office and Melville Road Post Office. They say that the Western Road office is not “commercially sustainable” due to falling customer numbers. They also say they are modernising the other branches in the coming months.

Are you concerned?

You have a voice and make your views known. The Post Office has begun a 12-week consultation process and you can let your views known. I would encourage you to do this.

Who to contact

There is an online questionnaire here: postofficeviews.co.uk

Enter the code for the branch: 01090799

I’m very keen that our community in Brunswick has a voice over this important matter and will remain in contact with the Post Office to make our views known. Keep in touch with me too -; you can leave your comments and views below!

Best,

Peter
