My dad has quite a story to tell. From growing up in post-war Liverpool followed by service in the Royal Navy, through to becoming a successful entrepreneur and businessman.
The one thing he has never done though was get involved in party politics. In fact to start with he was baffled by my decision! That’s why I want to share this photo. It was taken a year ago last week when he put all that aside to come and act as my chauffeur in the closing stages of the selection to become your candidate. In a break we sat together eating a sandwich in Hangleton Park.
It shows just how much love there is from a father to son that he would put his antipathy towards politics aside and work so hard to help his son go into the profession…thanks dad!
