Here’s to Bernie Jordon, 89 year-old D-Day veteran who lives in a residential care home here in Hove. When he heard there was no space on an organised coach to Normandy he did what someone of his pedigree would do – went on a road trip!
What a great story to end a thought provoking week of remembrance on. By the look of this photo he made many friends on the trip! I look forward to seeing the Hollywood film that is bound to follow but in the mean time I’m sure you’ll join with me in hoping he has a great time meeting fellow veterans and makes it back here to be among his friends again soon.
