It’s great to be working with the Home Sweet Home campaign in Hove and Portslade. The activists are campaigning for a better private rental sector – one that is fair for tenants with more professional standards expected from landlords.
The latest action is focussed on asking the government to crack-down on revenge evictions – where tenants lose their home for asking for problems to be fixed.
Recent research from Shelter shows that more than 213,000 people have faced eviction in the past year after asking their private landlord for repairs.
We collected signatures for a petition and we are going to ask Hove MP, Mike Weatherley, to support our calls to outlaw revenge evictions.
If you’d like to sign the petition too then pop into our campaign shop at 99 Church Road! – at George Street
