Peter Kyle has retained his seat in Hove and Portslade with a decisive victory, securing 27,209 votes, with a 52.4% share. He has won with a 19,791 majority, an increase from his 17,044 majority in December 2019.
Peter’s win contributes to the broader picture, seeing a Labour landslide after 14 years of Tory mismanagement. The Labour Party achieved a 174-seat majority, with a total of 411 seats.
Peter Kyle has said: “I would like to thank everybody who worked on this campaign to make it a safe and fair election.”
He is expected to be a part of Sir Keir Starmer’s frontbench, after being appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology in 2023.
