After missing several years because of Covid, Pride is back!

Having just finished the parade from Hove Lawns to Preston Park, I can tell you that people seem happier and keener to cheer and celebrate than ever before!

We’re lucky to have such a phenomenally successful Pride. It’s many things: a platform to remind people of the importance of equality; it’s a charity that distributes thousands of pounds locally year-round; it’s a protest and celebration; it’s the opportunity for people to make a statement to themselves and others about who they are; and yes, it’s a huge party too!

I’m so grateful to our city and residents for allowing this to happen every year, to the police, A&E staff (a great friend of mine is working there today and has her hands full!), railway workers and plenty of others put in so much effort to make it possible.

IF you are part of it this year, I hope you’re having a great time.

Peter
