It’s been a pretty intense year for our community and country so I think we all deserve a restful Christmas break!
I’ve lived in my flat in Hove for 19 years but every Christmas have gone to stay with my family where I grew up in Bognor Regis. But this year will be extra-special for me – my family are coming to me! Tomorrow will be the first time I’ve actually spent Christmas Day in my own home and I’m pretty excited about it.
If you’re working in one of our public services over Christmas, thank you on behalf of our whole community for keeping us safe and healthy – I know it sometimes doesn’t feel like it but we really do appreciate you!
After getting over the trauma of cooking Christmas lunch for my family I’m going to take a few days off to catch up on sleep, see friends, and reflect on the times we live in and how to navigate them going forward.
I love the gorgeous image on my Christmas card this year, it was taken by amazing local photographer Tony Bowall (https://www.tonybowallphotography.com) who very kindly allowed me to use it – thank you Tony!
I truly hope you have a lovely Christmas that’s full of fun, friendship and rest.
