In the run up to Christmas its really important to me to say thank you on behalf of our community to some of the people who keep our public services running at the most challenging times of the year.
I’ve been to the hospital and thanked some amazing nurses and doctors, and the other day I popped into Hove sorting office very early in the morning. The place was abuzz! The volume of cards and parcels is hard to imagine, but they crack through it without fuss at all. I even saw my local postman Andy hard at work sorting all the mail ready for delivery.
Working over Christmas often involves more work than normal at a time when other people are relaxing, it sometimes means missing out on seeing family, friends, and partners at a special time of year.
So to everyone who keeps us safe, healthy, and our community clean over Christmas, thank you from the bottom of my heart – you live in a community that truly appreciate the work you do.
I hope your buildup to Christmas is going well, good luck! Peter
