Over 6000 women marched on Parliament to protest about unfair changes to their pension, and I’m so proud that many of them were from our community.

These ‘WASPI’ women are baring the brunt of changes the government have sneaked through which will see many unexpectedly having to work up to two more years.

The stories I’ve heard from many, many local women affected have left me and my team deeply upset and angry. Retirement plans are having to be torn-up. In some families it is the care given to children by gran that enables parents to work, but gran is being told by the government to get a job! Whole families are being affected in a wholly short-sighted way.

I wrote to as many local women as possible who are affected, and I’ve helped set-up Hove & Portslade WASPI Group who regularly meet. If you’d like to join them email hove.portslade@parliament.uk Govenment don’t seem to be budging on this, but I will keep fighting for you until they do, Peter.
