I love The Posh Club!

Every Thursday a 1950’s style cabaret with themed performances, afternoon tea and the inevitable raffle rocks a local venue. It’s a chance for older people to get together and just have fun.

I visited one of the trials a couple of years ago and did everything I could to support their funding applications. Throughout the pandemic they held virtual clubs that brought company and laughter into peoples lives and soared so many from the sadness of isolation.

On Thursday I popped along and was staggered to see over a thousand people in the King Alfred ballroom. The atmosphere was just lovely, singing, laughing and dancing – I was swept off my feet by a lady from Hangleton in seconds!!

This really is a special time of the week for so many. It’s been funded by National Lottery and Arts England and others but it’s coming up for renewal. Believe me there’s nothing I won’t do to keep this funding in place, something this special can’t be lost.
