Eddie Izzard has been such a good friend to me ever since I took over the Palladium for the night when I was a young 23 year old (what was I thinking?!) to raise money for a charity I helped set up. Back then he agreed to headline the show and it became a massive success.

In the last campaign he came down to support me all the way through, doing public meetings in Portslade and even coming back on polling day just to show support.

And today he was back, this time to underscore how important it is to have an MP here who will make sure Brexit doesn’t damage our community. After meeting at my office to talk about my three Brexit tests we went to the St Ann’s Well Gardens because I really wanted to show off our community festival, which was brilliant fun.

The sun finally came out this afternoon and I hope you’ve all had a lovely time.
