This week I brought two shadow ministers to listen first hand to residents in Mile Oak who are campaigning for better play equipment in the Mile Oak Rec.

Gloria De Piero, shadow minister for women and equalities, and Jonathan Ashworth, shadow Cabinet Office minister, had a great time meeting the amazing people who have been campaigning so hard here. Both politicians were truly inspired by the people they met and I was proud to show our community off to them.

I fully support this campaign. It is clear that the Green council has been investing more in the central parts of Brighton than the periphery and at times people in places like Mile Oak are right to feel ignored and let down. Bringing high profile people to Mile Oak is just one way I’ll be keeping the focus of attention on this issue.

Gloria and Jonathan both signed the petition – I hope you have too! We’ll be submitting it to council after council recess ends and I’ll continue campaigning so you’ll be hearing more on this!

All the best, Peter
