Today is Small Business Saturday so please try extra hard to switch to our brilliant local businesses and retailers for the day.

I set a business up here in 2004 so know how hard our local entrepreneurs work. 

I spent the afternoon recently with Warren Morgan, Labour Council Leader, talking to retailers in Boundary and Station Roads about the challenges of running a small business, particularly in tough economic times. I know that they would really appreciate you giving the big brands a miss for the day to give locals a boost.
