I had a great day today despite the cold and the rain. I spent most of it on doorsteps with a brilliant team of volunteers listening to people’s views, ideas and concerns. I’m at my happiest when I’m out and about so thanks to everyone who took time out to chat. You can see from the photos that we ploughed on through some pretty grim weather, I hope you’re all home and dry tonight.

"The A Team - out in any weather!"

I then went to visit a solar array which has just been installed on the roof of an apartment block in Summerhill Road. It’s been installed by the Brighton Energy Coop and generates enough electricity to power every one of the 46 apartments. This is really, really fantastic. I want to see much more micro-generation here and I will work hard to make it a reality. Government cuts to feed-in tariffs and prohibitive planning regulations make it really tough at the moment but we simply must do better.
