During my election campaign I promised that I would tackle youth unemployment in Hove and Portslade. I spoke often about how I want every young person to have the best possible start in life and how I would work closely with the local council to tackle the fact that the number of apprenticeships across the South East is falling - Brighton & Hove being no exception.
So I'm over-the-moon to say that I'm able to do my own little bit in my own office. I'm recruiting an apprentice who will get to work in the constituency office in Hove!
The apprenticeship is being run via City College and it is a great opportunity to gain a Level 2 Business administration qualification. For full details you should go here:https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/appren…/755648
It's an exceptionally busy office with three staff who work very hard - but it's also rewarding and the candidate employed will get to work in every aspect of the work in a political environment; it's never, ever boring!
The number of new apprenticeship starts in Brighton & Hove has recently hit a five year low yet recruiting apprenticeships can have positive economic benefits to a business - if you regularly read my posts you'll know I'm a huge fan of quality, learning and skills based apprenticeships.
So if you or someone you know think you would benefit from working in my constituency office have a look at the link which has all the details. You don't need to have dreams of being the next Prime Minister (that job vacancy has just been filled, but will be vacant again soon hopefully!) - you just need to want to work hard on your business administration skills.
Good luck - and click 'SHARE' if you think you have friends who might be interested in it.
