Learning from Local Small Businesses

Just had a great session with a fantastic room full of local entrepreneurs. I learned a lot. Many people said they self-financed the start-up phase but needed finance to fund the subsequent expansion. This chimed with my own experience of setting a business up here.

One thing that really struck me though was the number of people who said they felt invisible when setting up a new business and really needed marketing help to spread word about the new business. This is something I think we can think about for future support.

Toby Perkins, shadow minister for small and medium business, was also on hand to listen and explain our policies to support small business.

Now off home to get changed and head out to meet residents near Portland Rd and then head to the The Stoneham Pub for football and pizza!
All the best, Peter
