Fire Authority Vote to Cut a Fire Engine

As you know I've been campaigning to stop a fire engine from being withdrawn from our area. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say we have failed. This is despite Labour candidates across the city collecting many thousands of signatures and leading a campaign that was eventually joined by people from all political parties. Consequently I have been informed that it is likely a fire engine will be withdrawn from Hove. This is extremely worrying.

Shockingly the only MP not to oppose the withdrawal of a fire engine here is our MP, Mike Weatherley.

I will continue to find out as much information as possible on the potential consequences for our communities and how we can put pressure on the authority to mitigate any loss of protection as a result. All the best, Peter
